Celebrated Doll Artist Robert Tonner to Visit FAO Schwarz Flagship Store to Meet with Fans
WAYNE, NJ (September 6, 2012) - For more than 20 years, doll collectors have made FAO Schwarz® their first stop when searching for the newest creations from the Tonner Doll Company, a mainstay in the fashion doll world and high-end collectible industry. In conjunction with the celebration of its 150th Anniversary, today the world-famous toy store unveiled a walk-around gallery showcasing a collection of stylish dolls from the Tonner Doll Company, timed to coincide with Fashion Week in New York City. ''A Fashionable Collection of Tonner Dolls'' is displayed prominently throughout the famed flagship location in New York City. The exhibit will run through October 16 and can be viewed online beginning September 13 at FAO.com. Items from the exhibit will also be featured on the company's timeline at Facebook.com/FAO.
Haute Couture Meets Fashionable Fun Tonner Doll Company has been one of the definitive names in fashion and licensed dolls for more than two decades, merging fashion-forward designs and pop culture sensibilities. Now, FAO Schwarz is celebrating the brand with 25 display cases filled with products from the Tonner Doll Company. Starting with two examples of Tonner's earliest work – porcelain versions of Alice in Wonderland and Little Red Riding Hood – visitors will see extraordinary interpretations of Harry Potter characters and WONDER WOMANTM, as well as classic Tonner designs, including Sydney ChaseTM, alongside selections from Tonner Doll's sister company, Wilde Imagination, among others.
