The transitional bed is designed for children who have outgrown their crib, but still require the included safety bedrails. The childs day bed is a great transitional stage until use of the full-size headboard is needed. The headboard attaches to a standard frame to create a full size bed. Footboard attaches to bed with adult rails, and the bedrails are sold separately. The Austin includes an attached changing station with an included changing pad. The changing station includes 2 spacious drawers and 2 spacious open shelves. Once the Austin transitions to a full size bed, the changing station detaches to become a night stand.
